Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, mastering the basics of tennis is essential to improving your game and having fun on the court.     Essential Skills

    Grip

    The first skill you need to master in tennis is the grip. There are three main grips in tennis: the Eastern grip, the Continental grip, and the Western grip. The Eastern grip is the most common and is used for forehands and backhands. The Continental grip is used for volleys and serves. The Western grip is used for extreme topspin shots.
